5月10日，加拿大埃德蒙頓孔子學院到山東師范大學進行訪問，副校長鄭元杰會見加拿大埃德蒙頓孔子學院理事長勞恩·帕克博士，雙方就推動孔子學院可持續健康發展、開展多維度交流進行深入探討。

　　On May 10th, the Confucius Institute in Edmonton, Canada, made a visit to Shandong Normal University. The vice president, Zheng Yuanjie, met with Dr. Lorne Parker, the director of the Confucius Institute in Edmonton, Canada. Both sides had in-depth discussions on promoting the sustainable and healthy development of the Confucius Institute and carrying out multi-dimensional exchanges.

　　近年來，在雙方共同努力下，埃德蒙頓孔子學院已成為山東省與阿爾伯塔省教育交流的典范，埃德蒙頓孔子學院中文教學質量不斷提升，學生數量持續增加，下設的27個孔子課堂已成長為當地國民教育體系中中文教學的中堅力量，影響力不斷擴大，得到當地民眾尤其是學生家長的廣泛認同。

　　In recent years, with the joint efforts of both sides, the Confucius Institute in Edmonton has become a model for educational exchanges between Shandong Province and Alberta Province. The quality of Chinese teaching in the Confucius Institute in Edmonton has been continuously improved, the number of students has continued to increase, and the 27 Confucius classrooms under it have grown into the backbone of Chinese teaching in the local national education system, with its influence continuously expanding and gaining wide recognition from the local people, especially the parents of students.

　　勞恩·帕克博士認為，埃德蒙頓孔子學院辦學規模和社會影響力不斷擴大，已發展成為北美最大的HSK考試中心，連續多年獲得全球優秀考點稱號，多次獲評全球先進孔子學院，學院圖書館已發展成為北美規模最大的中文圖書館，每年開展300余場教學、文化活動，直接受眾超過20萬人，成為加拿大人民認識中國、了解中國的重要窗口。

　　Dr. Lorne Parker believes that the scale of running the Confucius Institute in Edmonton and its social influence have continued to expand, and it has developed into the largest HSK examination center in North America. It has won the title of global excellent examination site for several consecutive years, and has been rated as a global advanced Confucius Institute many times. The library of the institute has developed into the largest Chinese library in North America. More than 300 teaching and cultural activities are carried out every year, with a direct audience of more than 200,000 people, and it has become an important window for the Canadian people to know and understand China.

　　據介紹，埃德蒙頓孔子學院是山東省教育廳和加拿大埃德蒙頓市公立教育局合作創辦的非營利性教育機構，2008年5月正式揭牌。2021年3月我校與山東省教育廳共同成為中方合作伙伴，現已累計派遣中方院長和國際中文教師30余人，有力支持了孔院建設。

　　According to the introduction, the Confucius Institute in Edmonton is a non-profit educational institution jointly established through cooperation between the Shandong Provincial Department of Education and the Edmonton Public Education Bureau in Canada, and it was officially unveiled in May 2008. In March 2021, our university and the Shandong Provincial Department of Education jointly became the Chinese partners, and more than 30 Chinese deans and international Chinese teachers have been dispatched so far, which has strongly supported the construction of the Confucius Institute.
